Lumos Diagnostics has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Manufacturing Technician to join its Manufacturing team in Carlsbad. This day shift position with working hours from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

As Manufacturing Technician II at Lumos Diagnostics, you will play a key role in our production team. This position is a more senior role than Manufacturing Technician I, requiring 1-3 years of experience. You will be responsible for setting up and operating production equipment, cutting, assembling, pouching, kitting, and ensuring the manufacturing process adheres to product specifications and standard operating procedures (SOP). Your focus will be on maintaining high-quality standards and safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate production equipment following product specifications and SOPs to manufacture, process, and assemble commercial products, including FebriDx and ViraDx.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Perform cutting, assembly, pouching, and kitting tasks as part of the manufacturing process, ensuring precision and adherence to SOPs.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production output for quality and conformance to required metrics, conducting in-process inspections and quality checks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, equipment logs, and quality control documentation. Report any inconsistencies or equipment issues promptly.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to established guidelines for safe material handling and the use of protective gear. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA and ISO) and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify areas for process improvement and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Manufacturing Technicians and assist in training new team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly work, with a proven track record of excellence. Perform manufacturing processes according to GMP documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 13485.
  • Adhere to safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand SOPs and work instructions in order to accurately complete and maintain documentation per Good Documentation Practices.

COMPENSATION:

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. If you are hired, your final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
