DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Specialist REPORTS TO: VP of ManufacturingPOSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in a manufacturing environment to ensure the MES system meets the operational needs and business objectives of the organization. In addition, this role will be responsible for creating and maintaining process-related ISO-controlled documents and generating various operations status/performance reports.
Position Accountabilities
  • Configure, maintain, &/or optimize manufacturing Resource Management workflows in Epicor Kinetics/MES to achieve company goals.
  • Create and maintain Resources/Resource Groups and Bill of Operations in MES for existing and new assets and part numbers, respectively. Develop &/or coordinate all required information with Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Perform &/or manage Job Completion activity in MES; review for issues, variances, or other concerns and initiate corresponding problem-solving as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT/IS to help problem-solve variances and other MES-related issues.
  • Generate and sustain various operations reports, scorecards, dashboards, etc. relative to quality, production output, inventory levels, customer job/order status, etc.
  • Participate in and help coordinate MES user-acceptance testing or validation for future Epicor/Kinetics releases, as required.
  • Help champion continuous improvement in businesses processes and the corresponding MES processes. Document best practices and update associated MES or related process documentation accordingly.
  • Document and control work instructions and SOP's as necessary for ISO compliance.
  • Responsible for PDM administration.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum two-year degree in business, technology, or related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with setting up and maintaining data inputs for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Experience with Epicor Kinetics is preferred.
  • Two years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment in either an operations, quality, or an engineering role.
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement and formal problem-solving principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
