JOB SUMMARY:
A sleep technician performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a sleep technologist and / or medical director or designee. A sleep technician can provide supervision of a sleep trainee.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure/ Registration/Certification:
CPSG within 6 months of hire
RPSGT within 18 months of hire
BCLS within 30 days of hire
SAMA Level 1 within 30 days of hire
Education:
Minimum of a High School diploma or its equivalent (GED)
Experience:
No experience required
Other:
Must be enrolled in or have completed A-Step Modules. Must be enrolled in or have completed training in polysomnography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option.
