Lutheran Senior Services is Hiring a Senior Organizational Development Specialist Near St. Louis, MO

Job Description: 

Introduction:

Summary:

The Organizational Development team is responsible for the design, development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives across LSS, and the Senior Organizational Development Specialist will focus on development and facilitation of LSS organizational development programs and solutions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates development workshops targeted to audiences from managers through executives, utilizing a variety of delivery methods (classroom, webinar, video conference, etc.)

2. Designs and delivers performance improvement solutions including workshops, skills-transfer activities, and instructional material

3. Consults with business leaders on unique performance and development needs and designs appropriate solutions

4. Partners with the Human Resources team to develop and implements programs to impact employee engagement and retention

5. Leads high-potential leadership tracks at manager and above levels and provides one-on-one coaching to participants

6. Drives organization-wide talent development processes such as Performance Management and Succession Planning

7. Serves as the LSS resource and steward for diversity, engagement, and inclusion; Makes recommendations on areas of focus and plans for action; Drives the need for LSS to take action by presenting data to management and the LSS Board

8. Evaluates effectiveness of programs through data analysis; Identifies and implements appropriate improvements

9. Monitors results and recommends enhancements to improve overall employee engagement participation

10. Drives program utilization programs through creative marketing and communication

11. Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of the overall Organizational Development strategy

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience driving performance improvement in a business environment
  • 3 years’ experience facilitating development workshops preferred
  • Previous leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience designing workshops and instructional materials
  • Working knowledge of adult learning concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience working with learning technology (Learning Management Systems, web-based and online training, etc.)
  • Proven collaboration and consultation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimum supervision
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2013

Work is generally performed in a standard office environment or on-site at one of our communities. Will require long hours of standing and presenting to groups.

Travel is required to communities located in metro St. Louis area, mid-Missouri and mid-Illinois region and other meetings as required.
