Description

Job Summary: This position has direct responsibility for the day-to-day management and administration of LSSSC’s Housing Counseling programs. This individual will provide direct staff supervision and program oversight. This individual must take initiative, be solutions oriented and demonstrate superb judgement. The position supports the execution of the organization’s vision, policies, and procedures, and works collaboratively with the Director of Housing Counseling to maintain compliance with regulatory and funding requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Review scope of work requirements for each program as assigned by Housing Counseling Director 

• Fulfill program and grant requirements as outlined in contracts or as directed by Housing Counseling Director • Meet weekly with program staff to provide supervision 

• Monitor, track and audit case files and client management systems weekly for service provision.

• Provide follow up for files not in compliance. 

• Keep client files locked when not in use and entered agency SharePoint system 

• Follow all HIPAA rules for compliance 

• Provide recommendations for program growth and enhancement. 

• Work with Housing Counseling Director to compile monthly and quarterly program reports 

• Effectively research, develop and implement enhanced Housing Counseling programs that incorporate nationally adopted operating and performance guidelines and federal requirements set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 

• Coordinate and facilitate housing counseling education classes and workshops 

• Actively manage a caseload of clients; including but not limited to client intake, scheduling and follow up 

• Prepare reports as requested to facilitate grant applications and to address inquiries from internal and external sources 

• Implement and execute an outreach strategy to create program awareness and establish LSSSC as the resource for families and individuals 

• Represent LSSSC at meetings and events to enhance agency presence and maintain existing community and business relationships 

• Ensure that LSSSC meets the highest standards for delivering comprehensive program services 

• Keep current on all federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines regarding the operations of housing counseling programs and maintain appropriate certifications.

Requirements

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education requirements. 

Certificates and Licenses: Housing Counseling HUD Certification (preferred) 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has supervisory responsibilities. 

Language Ability: Must read, speak and write fluent English.

Communication:  Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and staff.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
