Project Description:
The Project Manager will lead a critical project for a major banking client, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through to completion. The role requires deep expertise in the Project Management Professional (PMP) methodology, along with a strong understanding of banking processes and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for the client, managing all aspects of the project to ensure it is completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, budget, and risk management strategies.
• Define clear project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Align project plans with the bank's strategic goals and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as the primary liaison between the client and the project team, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, and communication to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and promptly address any concerns or issues that arise.
Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate a cross-functional project team, including business analysts, developers, testers, and subject matter experts, to ensure high performance and
collaboration.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to team members as needed, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Risk and Issue Management:
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Develop contingency plans and take corrective actions to address potential obstacles.
• Escalate critical risks and issues to senior management and stakeholders as necessary.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track project progress against established milestones and deliverables, using project management tools and techniques.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and the client, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Monitor and control project performance, adjusting as needed to stay on track.
Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Conduct regular quality reviews and audits to maintain high standards throughout the project.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project outcomes.
Mandatory Skills Description:
• Experience of leading and managing fast paced programs/ projects in Banking (preferably in Retail Banking)
• Experience in the Deposits domain. These include but not limited to:
• Deposit Products: Understanding various deposit products, such as savings accounts, checking accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs), and money market
accounts.
• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., FDIC insurance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your
Customer (KYC), Basel III) affecting deposit products.
• Interest Rate Management: Understanding interest rate calculations, management, and the impact of rate changes on deposit products.
• Account Management: Familiarity with account opening, maintenance, and closing procedures.
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
Agile Implementation (Optional)
• Lead the adoption and implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) within the project.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos, to promote Agile principles and practices.
• Coach and mentor team members on Agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
• Experience of working on post-merger integration projects
