Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal injury law and possess strong communication skills. This role will support our attorneys in all aspects of case management and client communication, ensuring smooth operations and excellent client service.
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Case Management:
  • Assist attorneys in preparing and managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct initial client interviews and gather relevant case information.
  • Draft demand letters, correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain case files, both electronic and paper, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
  • Client Communication:
  • Communicate with clients regularly, providing updates on case progress and answering inquiries.
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, and appointments with clients, medical providers, and other parties.
  • Legal Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct legal research on case-specific issues using various online and offline resources.
  • Analyze and summarize legal documents, medical records, and deposition transcripts.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Manage calendars, schedule court appearances, and coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys.
  • Handle billing and invoicing related to personal injury cases.
  • Trial Preparation:
  • Assist in preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks, and witness lists.
  • Coordinate with experts, witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to ensure efficient workflow and case progression.
  • Provide support to colleagues during periods of high caseload or absence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina court rules and procedures is a plus.
