Lux HandyMan is one of Miami’s premier handyman service providers for residential and commercial. Our fleet is composed of individuals with various maintenance skill sets. Our team of handymen offer various trade skills in repair work, maintenance work, interior & exterior, often called "side work" or "odd jobs." We provide an excellent level of service and professionalism with each job we do.

The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance repairs, preventative care, and knowledge of basic household items. Each handyman will be responsible for making sure that our customer's expectations are exceeded and will provide the highest quality of work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Share the common concept – people who believe in treating others as we would have them treat us.
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs.
• Troubleshoot general maintenance problems.
• Repair/troubleshoot HVAC.
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
• Accountable for company credit card and receipts.
• Sand, plaster, paint, stain, varnish, caulking, grouting.
• Sheetrock and drywall installation.
• Repair and replace general hardware: hinges, locks, door handles, etc.
• Repair electrical gadgets: light fixtures, transformers, dimmers, etc.
• Repair plumbing appliances: leaks, valves, clogs, snake drains, etc.
• Toilet repairs: flappers, fill valves, ballcocks, etc.
• Carry out basic carpentry work.
• Respond to requests from property managers for maintenance services.
• Document and submit completed work report as required. (Photos, texts, WhatsApp, etc.).
• And any other duties needed to help fulfill our Mission and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
• HVAC licensed preferred.
• Hotel and property management maintenance experience is a plus.
• Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; be able to reach overhead; have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body
• Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, navigating the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. occasionally to complete assigned job tasks
• Being highly observant.
• Good time management.
• Possess a working knowledge of basic household items like refrigerators, ovens, toilets, sinks, showers, etc.
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
• Extremely organized with good communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Work well with others.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
