Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to care for an elderly patient. The Home Health Aide will provide essential care and support to patient in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with personal hygiene, daily living activities, meal preparation, and overall well-being of the patient.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Personal Hygiene and Care:

  • Perform complete bed baths for patient, ensuring thorough cleanliness and comfort.
  • Fully assist patient with dressing, including selecting appropriate clothing and ensuring proper fit and comfort.
  • Assist with skin care during incontinent care, maintaining skin integrity and preventing irritation.

2. Meal Preparation and Assistance:

  • Prepare nutritious meals according to the patient's dietary needs and preferences.
  • Assist with feeding patient, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition and hydration.

3. Oral Care:

  • Prepare toothbrushes and mouthwash for patient, ensuring they maintain proper oral hygiene.
  • Assist patient with brushing their teeth and other oral care routines as needed.

4. Patient Positioning and Mobility:

  • Perform frequent turns and repositioning of patient using pillows and other aids to ensure comfort and prevent bedsores.
  • Assist with mobility exercises and activities to promote physical health and well-being.

5. Housekeeping and Environment Maintenance:

  • Perform laundry duties for patient clothes and linen, ensuring they are clean and fresh.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for the patient, including tidying living spaces and managing waste disposal.

6. Medication Assistance:

  • Assist patients with medication management, including reminding them to take medications as prescribed.
  • Ensure medications are stored safely and administered according to the healthcare provider's instructions.

7. Companionship and Emotional Support:

  • Provide companionship and engage patient in meaningful activities and conversations.
  • Monitor patient's mental and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a home health or caregiving setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of basic healthcare practices and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of the patient.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity and coordination.
