LVI Associates is Hiring a Director of Operations Near San Diego, CA
Company Summary: A global, privately-owned successful engineering firm specializing in water treatment solutions is seeking an experienced, driven and big-picture minded Director of Operations to support and lead their dynamic and growing team in San Diego, CA.
The Director of Operations will be responsible for:
- Developing and refining operational strategies, policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability; ensure seamless operational excellence and compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor, manage, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, costs, labor efficiency, equipment costs, and plant safety; conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain and improve performance.
- Lead by example, maintaining strong relationships with managers and supervisors to understand departmental nuances and drive optimal performance; foster a safety-driven and collaborative work culture.
- Oversee financial management by reviewing financials, implementing plans for improvement, developing and managing budgets, and monitoring production performance, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Lead and mentor the operations team, oversee hiring and training, provide guidance and performance feedback, and maintain management depth through succession planning and recruitment.
The Director of Operations should have the following qualifications:
- At least 7-10 years of experience working in an operations role and a minimum of 5 years in a management or leadership capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, analyzing statements, and implementing cost control measures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate teams at all levels and work cross-departmentally to provide creative and practical solutions to increase employee productivity and maximize profitability
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Energetic and motivated leader - excellent planner, communicator and collaborator
- Experience working within water/wastewater treatment
