Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join their team in Concord, California. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in bidding and winning heavy civil construction projects. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, managing bid proposals, and ensuring that our clients projects are competitively priced and profitable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to understand project scope and potential challenges.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential project information.
• Identify and assess cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
• Review and evaluate bid results and provide recommendations for future bids.
• Monitor industry trends and developments to stay current with pricing and construction methods.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the heavy civil construction industry.
• Proven track record of bidding and winning heavy civil projects, including paving, grading, foundations, heavy highway work, bridges, site excavation, shoring, and utilities.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
