With a strong, diverse, and exciting backlog of municipal engineering assignments, our client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a variety of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects involving feasibility studies, engineering design, preparation of construction documents, and construction management. As a Senior Project Manager in their Water/Wastewatergroup, you will have an opportunity to deliver complex and rewarding projects while marketing municipal clients in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead teams to pursue and secure water distribution and wastewater collection opportunities in Northern Virginia and the DC Metro area. This includes positioning with local clients and leading the development of proposals.
• Lead the engineering design of complex assignments, including pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation design, planning studies for future capacity needs, hydraulic calculations, development of utility plans, technical specifications and drawings, cost estimation, task proposals, and requests for proposals.
• Develop technical reports, studies, and memoranda to support engineering analysis as deliverables to the client.
• Manage projects and resources including tracking budgets, setting schedules, coordinating staffing and resources, coordinating with the client, and invoicing and payments
• Mentor and help support the growth of staff through both professional and technical oversight and support.
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies and sub-consultants to pursue, win and execute water/wastewater projects
• Identify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients, including public and private utilities and related agencies
• Support office and firm leadership in marketing and pursuit of new work leads focusing primarily on water/wastewater municipal clients

Required Education, Certification and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering field
• Professional Engineer's (P.E.) registration (in VA/DC or with the ability to get reciprocity in 6 months)
• Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in consulting engineering in the municipal Water/Wastewater industry, with a progression of responsibility including project delivery and business development
• Existing municipal/private engineering client relationships and/or the ability to develop and nurture such relationships
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
