OVERVIEW:Marc JacobsInternational, powered bythe creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks aHuman Resources Generalist to join the Human Resources team based in itsNew York City (SoHo) headquarters.
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of People team priorities that cultivate a high-performance culture and people-focused employee experience.This role will support our talent strategies and drive business results through coaching, performance management, talent management, employee relations and data insights.Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the generalist will assist in the implementation and execution of programs that aim to retain, develop, and manage the organization’s talent pool, while continuously evaluating the effectiveness of the organization’s talent processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall Support

  • Understands the Marc Jacobs business, be proactive and support managers and employees throughout all employee lifecycle events.
  • Facilitates implementation and execution of key Human Resources programs and processes with client groups, including but not limited to on-boarding, organizational effectiveness, performance management, engagement, retention, and compensation.
  • Manages performance improvement plans, involuntary terminations, and partner with legal on employee relations cases.
  • Conducts check-in meetings with employees to gather feedback regarding their onboarding experience. Escalate any issues that arise in a timely manner and offer possible solutions as needed.
  • Assists with annual performance review process and mid-year Organizational Management Review initiatives.
  • Manages the temporary employee and consultant processes which include onboarding and off-boarding.
  • Manages Leave Process in partnership with the Compensation and Benefits team.
  • Contributes to, and may have project ownership of, certain processes for Human Resources related initiatives.
  • Develops deeper understanding of business, key performance indicators, and interdependencies between functions through project work and employee interactions.
  • On occasion collaborates and coordinates with specialized Human Resources functions (e.g., talent acquisition, scheduling, learning and development, etc.) to maximize impact of Human Resources initiatives.
Culture & Engagement
  • Supports development and maintenance of internal programs focused on workforce retention and engagementmonthly.
  • Participates in internal resource groups, committees, and councils; support execution of related activations, events, and initiativessuch as Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Continues to upgrade the onboarding program with an eye on Employer Branding.
  • Manages employee recognition program such as employee spotlights.
Reporting, Analysis& Policy Management
  • Collects, analyzes, research, track trends, and prepares reports for the monthly Human Resources dashboard other data points in partnership with Human Resources Director to measure effectiveness of talent strategies.
  • Reviews, interprets, and recommends process and/or program improvements, based on analytics and data insights.
  • Identifies metrics and recommends action plans to support the accomplishment of Human Resources Business Partner function.
  • Consistently assesses HR processes and services and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Partners with Human Resources team members to integrate processes that allow for seamless employee development.
  • Support Human Resources Director in creating efficiencies as needed.
Recruitment & Development
  • Partners with Recruiter and Hiring Managers on recruitment needsby creating job requisition forms.
  • Manages the onboarding process by conducting new hire orientation for incoming corporate new hires and managing paperwork.
  • Supports the Learning & Development team with the rollout of the performance review process by coaching employees on goal setting, development planning, assessment processes, providing training and counseling on performance management process (via office hours)
Administration
  • Primary contact for all administrative aspects of the employee life cycle – all levels.
  • Provides Human Resources policy guidance and interpretation with the business.
  • Supports with administrative tasks such as creating promotion letters, status change forms to ensure Human Resources processes remain up to date.
  • Manages administration of people changes by updating organizational charts, processing information for organization management on new hires, status changes as needed by Human Resources Director.
  • Performs other ad hoc duties, as assigned by Human Resources Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be a service-oriented, self-starting, proactive, highly responsible, and an organized go-getter with an enthusiastic attitude:

  • 3-4 years’ experience as a Human Resource generalist and Human Resources Administration preferred.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Solid understanding of labor laws and demonstrates strong Human Resources sensibility and critical thinking.
  • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong time management and follow through skills.
  • Team player and proactive personality.
  • Maturity and discretion to handle confidential matters.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER:

The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000-$80,000(annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, we offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package including paid holidays, vacation time, sick and personal time, medical, dental and vision insurance, and 401k matching.
