ABOUT THIS ROLEThis role is essential for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of Windchill applications, crucial for managing engineering changes efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in change management and Thingworx development.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESApplication Installation and Maintenance:
- Coordinate with IT resources for application installation
- Support and perform code deployments and configuration changes
- Manage application updates (upgrades, patches, new releases)
- Develop deployment scripts and prepare build files
- Execute daily and weekly maintenance plans
- Perform Windchill maintenance tasks (WinDU, WinRU, revaulting, etc.)
- Manage vault space and perform cloning/rehosting
- Administer CAD workers and handle log/temp file cleanup and rotation
- Setup and maintain remote file servers
- Monitor server logs (ServerManager, MethodServer) for issues
- Administer PTC System Monitor and generate reports
- Develop and execute test plans for new or modified programs
- Debug, implement, and document fixes; perform root cause analysis
- Monitor CPU, RAM, and disk space; plan for expansion or cleanup
- Coordinate resources and schedules for development, testing, certification, and production activities
- Maintain comprehensive system administration documentation
- Create and manage change notices
- Handle eBOM, mBOM, and sBOM information
- Provide on-call critical suppor
- Work with tier 1 and 2 analysts and application users for support
- 5 years of experience in Windchill Administration
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment, and with all organizational levels
- Availability to provide off-shift system administration support
- Ability to engage vendor support for technical and functional issues
- Proficiency in escalating issues timely and appropriately
- Experience in UNIX and Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of SQL and XML
- Familiarity with developing applications in JAVA (preferred)
- Experience with Engineering concepts and programs (Windchill PDMLink 10.0, CREO Parametric 2.0 )
