Lyman Orchard's Apple Barrel Farm Market has an opening for a Produce/Perishables associate to join our team. The candidate should be someone who is reliable, has a strong work ethic, can work independently and is detail oriented. The position will require working between 20 and 40 hours a week depending on the time of the year, with our busiest period being July through early November.
Produce/Perishables Associate
Job Duties for Perishables Associate will include:
- Stocking Fruits and Vegetables and rotating stock to keep them fresh
- Stocking, Lifting and Moving boxes/merchandise up to 50lbs
- Moving Pumpkins and filling our retail pumpkin patch
- Stocking, rotating and merchandising other perishable and non-perishable goods (Dairy, Ice cream, jarred pantry items, etc)
- Packaging/ bagging product for resale
- Chopping fruit and or vegetables for resale following food safety guidelines
-Provide great customer service, answering customer questions & finding a solution
- Keeping produce areas clean and presentable at all times
- Rotating perishables product, checking date codes
- Organizing product in refrigerated coolers, putting pallets away, condensing and conserving pallet space.
- Assisting with our CSA program, including setup, breakdown and staffing the station
- Work with the team to build displays, keep track of inventory and quality control.
-Adhering to all company policies, including dress code and attendance
Ideal Candidates:
