POSITION SUMMARY
Assists Pre-K teachers in working with students to develop state mandated (Virginia Foundation Blocks) learning and established educational goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Implements teacher created lessons and activities during one-on-one, small group and whole class instruction.
Assists with preparing and organizing classroom materials
Maintains and assists with routines and student discipline procedures
Collaborates and works cooperatively with teacher and staff
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Performs related duties as necessary and as assigned by the site administration. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Attend and participate In faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Maintains confidentiality.
Completes other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours, or Associate's Degree
Successfully completed the ParaPro Assessment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience working with children.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Assists and supervises students during unstructured times including lunch and recess
