Position: Part-time HVAC-R Instructor (SY24-25) - After Dark Program at Lynn Vocational Technical InstituteAbout LPSLynn is a seaside urban district located on Boston’s north shore. The city is known for its contemporary public art, historic architecture, downtown cultural district, and public parks and open spaces, which include the oceanfront Lynn Shore Reservation and Lynn Woods Reservation. Home to an international population, Lynn Public Schools services almost 17,000 students across 18 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools, 1 vocational school, and 1 alternative junior/senior high school. We are a linguistically rich community with 60% of our students speaking two or more languages.

- Partnership between traditional high schools and schools with established Chapter 74 programs and facilities
- Altered schedule for participating students

- 900 total hours of Chapter 74 instruction at technical school
- Alignment with regional economic and workforce development priorities or other evidenced labor market demand
Qualifications
- MA DESE-certified as a Chapter 74 instructor
- MA Vocational licensure in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration
- Deliver instruction in accordance with the approved Ch. 74 curriculum; ensure lessons are prepared with clear objectives and are effectively communicated to support optimal learning outcomes.
- Assist students in learning career-area subject matter that adheres to educational frameworks and skills that aid in their development as capable and responsible individuals; motivate students to maintain standards of conduct and work ethic.
- Ensure that direct teacher instructional support is provided to all students, including those in general education, special education, 504, and EL programs.
- Foster a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and encourages positivity.
- Maintain and record student attendance and grades; submit data to the program director and/or guidance counselors to update Power School (SIS).
- Participate in professional development opportunities and remain current with the latest developments in the field.
- Undertake any other relevant teaching duties as assigned.
