LYON is Hiring an Assistant Shipping Supervisor Near Watseka, IL
Lyon is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our shipping team. We are seeking a candidate to assist in supervising material handlers. The assistant shipping supervisor will provide direction, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Lyon goals and objectives.
Essential duties & responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and direct shipping staff, emphasizing a top priority on worker safety
- Supervise all forklift operations in the shipping department
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the shipping area, including regular equipment servicing and ensuring a tidy workspace
- Manage inventory management system to optimize tracking and organization
- Maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and receipts; enter relevant data in reports as needed
- Ensure that shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders
- Keep track of damages, shorts, and errors
- Assist in training new shipping staff to ensure they meet operational standards
- Improve shipping processes through strategic planning, aiming for a more efficient fulfillment system
- Work to improve ongoing issues with mis-picks and miss shipping through process enhancements
- Ability to receive and allocate staging space for the products being unloaded and keep track of quality standards of the products entering the shipping storage
- Ability to complete all data entry requirements, including adjustments made on the inventory of products used daily
