LYON is Hiring a MIG Welder Near Paris, IL

Job DescriptionDescription:
Essential duties & responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Set-up & operate welder by using variety of techniques in a safe manner
  • Advise supervisor of faulty operations
  • Read route sheets, verify counts, record operations performed on router while able to read blueprints and sketches
  • First piece & last piece inspection & every 20th piece (first piece, 20, 40, 60, etc. & the last one)
  • Fill out a green tag for EVERY work order
  • Perform hourly weld tests and perform quality checks
  • Required to stand, walk, crouch, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls
  • Monitor welding process and adjust heat
  • Calculate and measure dimensions

Shift and schedule
  • Full-time
  • 9 hour shift Monday through Thursday
  • Friday and Saturdays as needed
Requirements:
  • Able to read, write, & follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate well with others
  • Excellent attendance
  • General mathematical knowledge & proficiency with basic measuring instruments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
  • Prior experience working as a MIG welder is preferred & must pass a welding test
