Basic Function

The Contract Specialist US is part of the Legal function. The Contract Specialist US is responsible for managing the Procurement Legal Request platform for North America ("Procurement Box"), the associated Shared Mailbox and the Procurement Templates library, in strict coordination with the Senior Contract Manager NA based in Houston and in accordance with company policies.

S / he will assist with the review, negotiation, approval and execution of procurement contracts and s / he will act as the first point person for Procurement contracts requests in the region.

The Contract Specialist US works independently and is able to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels and can navigate a complex organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

Primary interface with Procurement for contract review & approval in North America

Procurement Box" Super User

• Review, draft and approve contracts based on templates and pre-approved deviations
• Track changes and redline contracts, support Legal Counsel's reviews and risk assessments
• Escalate contracts for approval to Legal Counsel
• Support proactively the harmonization and improvement of the Global Procurement Legal Request process
• Work in strict coordination with, and under the coaching directions of the Senior Contracts Manager in North America.
• Keep track of improvements for contract templates and support with adopting contract templates to meet platform enhancement requirements
• Provide regular trainings to Procurement on contracts basics, company policies and Procurement Box tool and process
• Advice on basic legal contract matters and internal company policies
• Docusign user and facilitator
• Act as local helpdesk for Procurement Box users

Min. Qualifications

• Relevant experience working in the managing, reviewing and drafting of legal contracts, correspondence and documents
• Strong MS office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Knowledge of Ariba (basic)
• Interpersonal skills; able to communicate orally and in writing in an organized, effective and timely manner; builds appropriate rapport with others;

is comfortable receiving coaching and feedback from others; encourages cooperation and collaboration

• Possessing strong work ethic and self-motivation as well as the ability to inspire integrity and trust across the business
• Multi-cultural team player, delivering high quality work and reaching team objectives
• High school diploma required
• Legal and / or contract experience required (law firms, legal departments, contract management departments)
• 5 years related experience required with degree (10 years in lieu of degree)
• English
