High School English/General Teacher at M.H.G. Preparatory Academy 6th -12th-grade private faith-based school focusing on Kingdom Principles.

  • Located in Louisville Kentucky, the founders are establishing a long-term middle and high school educational option for their Diverse Community.
  • This STEM-based school seeks outstanding middle and high school teachers to lead the school’s initial growth and future expansion.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Committed to a faith and values-based educational philosophy
  • An educator who is a current teacher in a private, charter, and or public-school environment
  • Knowledge of IB or an inquiry-based, interdisciplinary education
  • A high-energy person with enthusiasm and passion for supporting all learners
  • Experienced with college preparatory learning environments
  • Able to develop a culture of caring, compassion, and support in an environment that values each student's gifts and challenges.

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will embrace inquiry-based learning and inspire students to explore and engage with literature and language arts. As a teacher at our Christian school, you will integrate faith and learning, encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills within a biblical worldview.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that utilize inquiry-based learning strategies.
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Encourage students to ask questions, conduct research, and explore various perspectives in literature and writing.
  • Integrate Christian principles and values into the curriculum and classroom activities.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • Experience with inquiry-based learning methods.
  • Strong understanding of Christian values and the ability to integrate faith into teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Passion for literature and language arts, and a desire to instill that passion in students.
