M.L. Chartier Excavating is Hiring a Lead Driver Near Fair Haven, MI

Position Title: Lead Driver

We are seeking full time employment for hard working, safe and experienced Lead Drivers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver material to and from jobsites
  • Help on jobsites as needed and necessary
  • Have a great attitude, team player mentality
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety standards
  • Maintain organized and clean work area and truck
  • Participate in and promote the safety culture
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have at least 2 years of dump experience
  • CDL A with Current DOT Med Card
  • Willing to work flexible hours until the job is complete
  • Follow instructions given both orally or in writing
  • Ability to work independently, with accuracy and in accordance with company safety and quality standards
  • Ability to communicate in English with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem solving, or other purposes
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Responsible for keeping log books, daily trip logs and paperwork organized and filed in a timely manner. Great communication and vigorous team work is expected each day at the shop and on job sites.
  • Willing to perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment including greasing

Physical Demands

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies.
