POSITION: Associate Dean for Nursing
LOCATION: Syracuse, NY
SUMMARY: Our client, a comprehensive healthcare organization, is looking for an Associate Dean for Nursing to support the Dean in the daily management and planning of the nursing program, including but not limited to quality management and accreditation. The Associate Dean will collaborate with faculty to ensure the curriculum supports achievement of student learning and program outcomes. In addition, this role assists faculty with incorporating established professional standards and consistently reviews the curriculum for integrity, rigor, and currency. This position will serve as a role model and mentor to faculty and students in the areas of academic excellence, customer service, communication and professionalism. This position may also include limited teaching responsibilities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall operations, leadership, direction, and coordination of staff within the nursing education program.
  • Effectively collaborates with college administration in the development and implementation of strategic plans, initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Performs staff management functions related to coaching/professional development, work assignments, performance management, and goal alignment in collaboration with the Dean.
  • Performs staff management functions related to staffing, onboarding, and new hire orientation in collaboration with Human Resources and department leadership.
  • Organizes and maintains a culture of systematic assessment and continuous improvement to achieve programmatic and student learning outcomes and strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively collaborates with faculty in the development of effective evaluative measures to ensure curricular integrity, rigor, and that assessment activities are used to strengthen the program and inform resource allocation.
  • Proactively communicates with staff and keeps them informed on a regular basis or as needed, updating staff regarding policy changes in specialized areas.
  • Oversees accreditation activities and maintains compliance reports.
  • Routinely reviews curriculum to ensure the highest level of accuracy and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Dean to develop new program options and support the future of nursing education.
  • Provides data, reports and research to measure, support and evaluate institutional strategic planning initiatives and goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree with a major in Nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse with New York State required.
  • National League for Nursing certification as a Nurse Educator preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent clinical experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Nurse Educator.
  • Minimum of two years (2) active involvement in curriculum design and evaluation, faculty development and evaluation, and operational oversight of nursing education program activities.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
SCHEDULE & BENEFITS:
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, onsite
  • PTO: 15 days to start, increases each year

Annual Salary: $125,000
