The Opportunity
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking resident engineer to join our established and growing team in New York to have the primary responsibility for quality assurance of the construction.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Administering the construction contract effectively.
* Interacting closely with the contractor(s) project manager.
* Ensuring implementation of the quality plan for the project.
* Overseeing the field operation to ensure schedules are adhered to and the overall construction program maintained.
* Overseeing the field staff and deploy in such a manner as to minimize cost and maximize production, i.e.: deploy staff using day and night shifts as to minimize overtime and travel.
* Reviewing and monitoring the contractor's daily and weekly work progress and compared to what has been shown in the schedule.
* Reporting any delays or lost time to the CM for action.
* Coordinating the activities of the contracts with outside agencies and utilities.
* Directing public and media inquiries to the appropriate department representative.
* Preparing all project related correspondence and providing to the appropriate level for issue.
* Conducting job coordination and progress meetings.
* Ensuring the project daily inspection reports are timely, complete and certified by an authorized person.
* Preparing and reviewing monthly estimates and final payments.
* Ensuring staff maintains high ethical standards.
* Reviewing monthly progress reports to client.
* Reviewing and commenting on CPM schedule updates.
About You
You have a bachelor's degree plus related experience and/or education. You have a NYS P.E. license. You have a valid driver's license with clean record.
It is preferred that you have experience with rail or railroad projects, working knowledge to manage all aspects of heavy civil infrastructure projects. You have expert knowledge of rail and associated installation requirements.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated construction teams. You will be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.
Target salary range is $125,000 - 180,000, based on skills and experience.
