Machine Tool Research (MTR), a leading US builder of large machine tools, seeks a creative detail-oriented Design Engineer. As a key player in our innovative engineering team, you'll translate engineering concepts into detailed mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software. Your designs will ensure our machines meet functional, manufacturability, and quality standards.

The Role:

• Design and develop innovative mechanical components and systems for our machine tools using engineering principles and creativity.
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor).
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation including bills of materials and assembly instructions.
• Conduct engineering analyses to ensure the strength and performance of designs.
• Select appropriate materials and components with a focus on manufacturability.
• Collaborate with project engineers and specialists to integrate components into the overall machine design.
• Participate in design reviews and provide expertise on mechanical and manufacturing challenges.
• Stay current on advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and materials.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in designs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong understanding of theory.
• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering (preferred).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using Autodesk Inventor or similar software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with machining and metalworking is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

According to the New York Pay Transparency Law, pay range for this job is $70,000 - $80,000/year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
