Mack is a 104-year-old, privately-held, full-service contract manufacturer with a great reputation focusing on big, bulky and complex components through high-end electromechanical finished assemblies, custom injection molding & medical devices.

  • Having 3,200 employees across 11 locations and no debt with a 5A1 D&B rating, and the vertical integration including engineering product development, prototyping, plastic injection molding, sheet metal, machining, and PCBAs, this role offers a lot of exciting and creative sales opportunities.
  • Mack’s business development managers are responsible for growing new business and identifying opportunities in future growth markets and upcoming technologies. The BDM identifies, qualifies and closes new business, selling all of Mack North’s capabilities across a diverse range of industries. The BDM will leverage market research to identify target accounts and prospects, as well as follow up with consistent inbound lead traffic. In addition to setting up appointments to present Mack’s capabilities and organizing visits to Mack’s facilities, the business development manager is responsible for developing and submitting all quotes. Once a program is awarded, it is the responsibility of BDM to work with the assigned program manager to thoroughly transfer all program information and support the first stage gate review. 
  • The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in medical manufacturing sales and an engineering background with competency in medical devices, plastics, metal and assembly. He/she needs to be a self-starter, a disciplined home-office warrior who can successfully leverage the benefits of a field-based role to their, and Mack’s benefit. A successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in reviewing and understanding drawings, specifications and solutions. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the strong organizational skills necessary to maintain a robust pipeline, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. This includes the ability to listen to customer’s needs, identify objections and present a solution, and maintain a rapport throughout the lengthy sales cycle of manufacturing services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Field-based position responsible for developing sales by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business​
  • Hunt for new opportunities to identify target accounts and prospects​
  • Strategically grow existing accounts by finding new business in current and new divisions while working alongside the Program Manager
  • Follow-up on inbound leads and travel to customer and Mack locations​
  • Generate quotes with manager’s approval, present to customers, and negotiate terms​
  • Once a program is awarded, work with the assigned program manager to​ transfer all program information and support the first stage gate review​
  • Provide weekly summaries of opportunities, needs, and travel plans​
  • Utilize Salesforce for all leads and opportunity tracking​
  • Review and sign NDAs​
  • Attend Mack tradeshows​
