Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill a Warehouse / Shop Helper for a client that specializes in steel manufacturing and is located in Portland, Oregon.

Job Summary:

• The role involves supporting various aspects of warehouse operations and assisting in the shop environment to ensure efficient production and distribution of steel products. This position is crucial in maintaining organization, cleanliness, and safety within our facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Duties:

   • Receive incoming shipments of steel materials and products.

   • Unload trucks and containers using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

   • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents.

   • Label and stockpile materials according to organizational standards.

   • Maintain accurate inventory records through proper documentation and data entry.

2. Shop Assistance:

   • Assist shop personnel with tasks related to steel fabrication and processing.

   • Prepare materials and tools for production according to job specifications.

   • Clean and maintain equipment and tools to ensure operational efficiency.

   • Support in assembling, sorting, and packing finished products for shipping.

   • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

3. General Support:

   • Perform general cleaning duties to keep warehouse and shop areas tidy.

   • Dispose of waste and recyclable materials following company policies.

   • Assist in occasional maintenance tasks or repairs as needed.

   • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to achieve team goals effectively.

   • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.

• Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification a plus).

• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy objects

• Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and record-keeping.

• Good communication skills and a team player mentality.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
