HOUSING PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Full Time. $2 5 -$2 8 /hr., Salary depending on degree, experience and fluency in Spanish (Bilingual Spanish preferred, not a requirement).
Bonus: $1000 if pass the HUD Housing Counselor Certification within three months. $1000 more after six months of satisfactory employment : HUD’s Certified Housing Counselor requirements
General : Provide counseling and assistance for individuals and families in locating and securing accessible housing, including packaging and submitting apartment applications. Identify housing opportunities for individuals who are in need of housing in order to leave a nursing home .

Requirements And Qualifications
- Assist eligible Housing Subsidy participants through steps necessary for enrollment, including filling out housing applications, obtaining household goods and/or support for moving expenses, arranging unit inspections, etc.
- Work with applicants ’ Transition Specialist, Service Coordinator (SC), Nursing Home Discharge Planner, natural support, or advocate to ensure a support services plan is in place for program enrollment.
- Conduct follow-up after subsidy is initiated including but not limited to verifying occupancy of unit and continued eligibility for program.
- Work to identify landlords, public housing, and private housing in the region which may be suitable for individuals enrolled in the OHS program in the future.
- Maintain a list of available housing in the region, including degree of accessibility, location, proximity to services, and rental costs.
- Counsel clients with respect to their overall financial situation as it relates to budgeting affordability, debt reduction, credit re-building and education.
- Build relationships with local brokers, developers, property managers and other partner professionals to develop referral sources.
- Track activity with clients and follow up notes in a timely manner to ensure data integrity collection and management for reports. Track and report on all activities using the statewide project database and the agency’s database . .
- Attend local housing events.
- Manage monthly housing workshops – in person and virtual.
- Working collaboratively with staff to produce effective marketing of housing program. and procuring partner speakers.
- Participate in agency sponsored training; training required by HUD; intermediaries and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree with two years or more of experience in the human services field.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Computer literate on basic Microsoft Programs such as Word, Outlook and Internet search use.
- Respectful of persons with a disability, from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Bilingual skills preferred. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Must Own Transportation and the ability to travel in Westchester,
