Madison Avenue, Inc., is a small custom graphics, signs, displays, and promotional products national supplier to the professional meetings and events industry. We are in search of an Accounting Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, record, and e-mail customer invoices. Follow up with collection efforts if necessary.
• Post and record customer payments and make bank deposits.
• Review contracts, complete customer-supplier applications, and set up ACH payments from customers.
• Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including fixed assets.
• Verify, allocate, and post transactions to the appropriate accounts.
• Maintain and balance the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and update profit and loss statements and balance sheets and prepare journal entries regularly.
• Manage, process, and track accounts receivable and accounts payable in a timely manner.
• Manage cash, bank, and credit card activity accurately and promptly.
• Prepare accurate financial and operating reports for management.
• Comply with federal, state, and local tax laws requirements, enforce compliance with requirements, file reports, work collaboratively with outside accounts, and advise management on needed actions.
• Process biweekly payroll, including employee benefits, simple IRA deductions, and tracking PTO.
• Manage, process, and track company facilities and insurance contracts.
• Assist in preparing the company's budget, projections, and forecasting, and then monitor and measure the company budget against actual performance.
• Obtain vendor W-9s and prepare annual 1099's.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a detailed accounting role.
• Previous experience in accounting with a general line manufacturer or graphics production house is preferred.
• Proficient using QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Must have intermediate Excel skills and analytical ability to produce ad hoc reports
• Experience with QuickBase and Gsuite is a plus.
• Experience with CRM/QuickBooks software integration, a plus.
• Must have experience in payroll processing, reporting, and compliance, preferably using ADP.
• Ability to accurately complete sales tax returns for multiple states and knowledge of each state's respective sales tax requirements.
• Negotiating and maintenance of Facilities and Insurance contracts, preferred.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently record and analyze financial, business, and accounting data.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills, along with a demonstrated business acumen and ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong desire to work individually as well as part of a team.
