A global strategic advisory firm considered an industry leader in cyber security and investigative compliance projects for various financial services, real estate, fortune 500 and tech companies is seeking an Assistant Controller.

The firm has led investigations within cyber security, risk and anti-money laundering projects for some of the most infamous financial crimes in the world over the last 20 years.

This position technically sits in NYC but there is an opportunity for someone to work fully remote if they are located outside of the NYC area.

Details:

• Review monthly bank reconciliations and account analysis/reconciliations during the month end close
• Support the Global Controller with oversight of the accounts payable team (i.e. review voucher entry and pay runs for accuracy, oversee vendor onboarding)
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules – calculating monthly depreciation and amortization and recording/reviewing monthly journal entries
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly sales tax returns, excise tax and commercial rent tax
• Responsible for some treasury functions (i.e. review daily cash balances)
• Monthly preparation of reports for foreign accountants to maintain compliance in those countries
• Assist with all forecasting and budgeting efforts
• Assist with annual financial statement audit
• Assist with the preparation of the workpapers for outside tax teams
• Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements
• Perform ad hoc analyses and reports upon request

Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience working within a professional services company such as a law firm, national consulting firm
• CPA license is strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a team
