24-25 - La Follette - Girls Swim Head Coach La Follette High $2,964.00 - 6,072.00 Annual Salary Position Title: Head Girls Swim Coach Department: La Follette High School Athletics Department Reports to: Scott Swanson La Follette High School Athletic Director _________________________________________________________________ Purpose of Position: The Head Girls Swim Coach will oversee the entire La Follette Girls Swim Program and instruct the varsity high school swim team. Responsible for helping each student-athlete reach their full potential in the classroom and in the pool. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the swim program coaching staff including Assistant coaches. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee training of swimmers in all events in conjunction with the other coaches.
Develop training plans for swimmers in conjunction with the other coaches.
Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home competitions as directed by the Athletic Director.
Contribute to meet line-up planning with other coaches.
Attend and coach at all practices.
Attend and coach at all meets.
Oversee and assist other coaches in monitoring team members' practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance, and grades
Oversee and assist other coaches in enforcing team policies.
Responsible for providing student-athletes with feedback about their performance related to their disposition, behavior, and team skills.
Manage program budget and organize fundraising efforts for the swim program
Coordinate competition and practice schedules with the Athletic Director.
Coordinate off-season training and conditioning for the swim program
Successful completion of the required WIAA Rules Exam for swim by the 2024-2025 Fall Sports season.

Knowledge of instructional techniques for competitive swimming..
Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
If no teaching license, successful completion of an approved coach's education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching .
Demonstrated ability to successfully coach in a diverse population.
Ability to initiate and maintain open communication with staff, student athletes, and parents/guardians.
Competitive experience in swimming at the high school level.
Previous coaching experience with preference for those with prior swim experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to design and implement a developmentally appropriate program for student-athletes in swimming.
Evidence of knowledge of WIAA eligibility standards and willingness to reinforce good sportsmanship and compliance with athletic codes from members of the La Follette Swim team.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and supervise athletic teams with respect to schedules, equipment, student eligibility, and safety.
Preferred: Valid teaching license
Preferred: Lifeguard Certified
Preferred: College playing/coaching experience
Preferred: Demonstrated ability to successfully implement swimming systems in a high school setting
Length of Work: WIAA 2024 Fall Sports Season Working Conditions: Will be expected to work in evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements: The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
