Madisonville Christmas Company is Hiring a Baker Near Madisonville, TX

Madisonville Christmas Company is an 11-acre business that is a year-round destination for all things Christmas. Onsite, we have a Christmas store, outdoor pavilion / lawn, café, sports bar, and several food trucks. Position Overview: The Baker is responsible for providing exceptional service which creates a positive, inviting, and memorable experience for our guests. A Baker is responsible for preparing breads, pastries, and other items at an establishment that serves food, processing customer orders, and cleaning their workspace throughout the day to follow health and safety guidelines. Bakers follow recipes consistently, make adjustments based on customer requests, communicate with wait staff and prepare orders.

Delivering exceptional guest service goes beyond being a mere objective; it is ingrained in our core values. Job Duties:

  • Open the Kitchen; fill out all kitchen food and safety logs.
  • Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
  • Follow recipes for pastries and menu items
  • Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits)
  • Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies and rolls
  • Bake different bread types
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • 50% of the job is baking and pastries, and the other 50% is helping the main kitchen serve guests

Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hour shifts
  • Lift 50 lbs with no restrictions
  • Experience as a baker or line cook required
  • Experience with baking and pastries preferred
  • Experience with cake decoration techniques preferred
  • Experience with professional kitchen equipment required, including mixers, blenders and knifes
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Must be able to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Fast pace high energy job
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work both morning and evening shifts

Compensation: $13-17/hour plus tips

Schedule:

  • 30-37 hours per week
  • Potential to go full time
