Job Summary:

The Bank Teller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients by assisting them with their banking needs. This role involves processing transactions accurately and efficiently, answering inquiries, and resolving account-related issues. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming environment.
  • Assist customers with various banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Educate customers about bank products and services, and make referrals to other departments as needed.
  • Transaction Processing:
  • Accurately process transactions while maintaining strict compliance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Verify customer identification and ensure the validity of transaction documents.
  • Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, and ensure cash is secure and accounted for.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of customers and bank assets.
  • Stay informed about and comply with banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Report any suspicious activities or fraud attempts to the appropriate authority.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and account changes.
  • Assist with branch administrative tasks as needed, including filing, data entry, and maintaining customer information.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay updated on bank policies, procedures, and products.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a banking or financial setting.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic software applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, if required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to handle cash and operate a teller drawer efficiently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to [weight] pounds occasionally.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
