Job Summary
An effective Church Treasurer disburses all funds received into the Church treasury in a responsible and organized manner, with funds identified and bills paid when due, so that the ministry of the congregation can be effective. The successful applicant will be flexible, responsible and willing to learn.
Tasks
Reconcile monthly credit card statements by collecting receipts and inputting information into our church accounting software (Realm is used currently)
Work with finances according to the guidelines established by the Committee on Finance for total fiduciary responsibility. This includes maintaining compliance with all applicable governmental tax guidelines.
Track and pay all bills in a timely and efficient manner
Work with the Financial Secretary and Finance Chairperson to make regular financial reports to the Board of the church (monthly)
Responsible for maintaining and disbursing monthly paychecks (including collecting new employee information and setting up "auto pay" if used)
Pay monthly NC and Federal Taxes by due date
Payroll - Determine the amount of NC and Federal Taxes for each employee, each year and input changes
Submit Sales Tax Reimbursement January - June and July – December, file Quarterly 941's create W2s for employees each year
