Summary Are you someone how enjoys working with young children in a team setting? Do you work well independently to accomplish tasks to support your team? If you have the desire to work in Early Education and want to explore what that might look like, Magic Mountain might be the right fit for you. As a member of the Magic Mountain Children’s Center team, float staff will provide support to classroom teachers as needed or directed by the Executive Director. Float staff will be asked to serve a variety of different tasks thoughout the center to support all classrooms. Float staff are responsible for the care and education of groups of children when they have been assigned to them. Float staff will work with other members of the team to create and support a high quality level of care for children and parents. Duties Responsibilities
Implements and facilitates developmentally appropriate activities
Ensures that children are adequately supervised
Promotes critical thinking and problem solving
Promotes independence, cooperation and positive self-esteem and self-concept
Provides nurturing attention and uses positive approaches to guide behavior
Administrative
Observes and records the happenings with children
Keeps track of the children's attendance
Assures that the center is kept neat and clean
Communication
Provides parents with information about their child's experience for the day
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
At least 18 years of age, and is a high school graduate or has completed a GED
3 Credit College Course in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR
Fundamentals for Early Childhood Educators
One year of experience working with young children
Ability to relate well with children
