We are seeking an experienced and talented Manager, Human Resources to join our team and drive our people strategy and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a solutions-oriented, level-headed business partner – you work in human resources because your passion is helping others and your desire is to make our organization a top workplace.
This individual will report directly to the President of Magna and will be responsible for payroll, compliance, recruiting, and engagement across multiple locations.
The role is in-office, which is located in Austin, TX.
What You’ll Do
Culture Development and Management:
- Foster a positive and inclusive company culture by partnering with the President and other company leadership to define and promote company core values and culture.
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote employee engagement and retention.
- Support an environment that values diversity, inclusion, equality, and acceptance.
Recruitment and Hiring:
- Oversee the recruitment process from position strategy to job posting to onboarding.
- Develop job descriptions and manage job postings on platforms such as Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.
- Conduct interviews and manage the selection process, working closely with the direct manager throughout the process.
- Collaborate with department heads to not only understand but also predict staffing needs.
Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Design and manage the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth and welcoming environment for them.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding process, collecting as much data as possible from departing team members to feed our relentless learning mentality.
- Continuously improve onboarding and offboarding procedures by adapting and leveraging the data we collect in these processes.
Conflict Management and Mediation:
- Address employee conflicts and grievances, including acting as a mediator in resolving workplace disputes.
- Develop and implement conflict resolution policies and procedures and put in place preventative measures to keep them from becoming repetitive problems.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Oversee payroll processes, a large part of which is coordination with available resources at Magna and Emory Oak Partners (“EOP”) to automate as much of the payroll process as possible to remove human error and ensure timely and accurate pay for team members..
- Manage employee benefits programs and ensure compliance and adherence to the policies we have put in place.
- Handle employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits, working with our service providers as necessary.
Data Collection and Software Management:
- Own and manage the HR software tool, Inova, including ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance in the HR system to ensure the accurate maintenance of employee records, HR documentation, and trainings.
- Leverage the HR software tool to collect data about team members, team member experience/satisfaction, ways we can improve, and work with the Associate, Business Operations to drive data insights and predictability related to our team members.
- Train team members on the use and reporting tools of the HR software and how they can best interact with it from a self-service perspective to minimize the need for questions to you.
Performance Management and Training and Development:
- Work with business unit leaders and the Associate, Business Operations to develop dashboards for team member performance within QuickSight (our BI tool).
- Provide guidance and support to managers on team member evaluations.
- Address performance issues and develop improvement plans.
- Identify training needs and organize training sessions.
- Support career development initiatives, including the Implementation and management of employee development programs.
- Provide HR support for the business while partnering with cross-functional teams and leaders and leveraging HR functional expertise to support critical human resources objectives.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws as well as Magna policies.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree/equivalent experience/credential required - prefer in an appropriate field such as human resources, organizational behavior, business administration and/or a Master's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience with demonstrated project leadership and employee relations experience.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
- Working knowledge of government laws, regulations, and legal decisions affecting employment.
