Magnificus Corp. is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Washington, DC
IMMEDIATE OPENING for Nurse Practitioner (PRN) to support Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) in Washington, DC.
The CFSA Clinic serves as an onsite clinic and is staffed by licensed certified nurse practitioners and certified medical assistants, that provide health screenings for children and youth (birth-21 years) entering, re-entering, exiting and changing placements while in foster care.
Specific tasks and duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Assess the current medical, psychiatric, psychological, cognitive, emotional and behavioral status and patterns of the patient.
- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency conditions.
- Treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols and/or in collaboration with a physician.
- Obtain medical historical information from patients, as applicable.
- Obtain medical historical information from biological families, as available.
- Perform rapid laboratory tests, as indicated by medical standards (EPSDT) examination findings, and the age of the patient, including but not limited to anemia, lead, strep, pregnancy, drug screen, STI, urine dipstick, and glucose monitoring.
- Provide recommendations for the treatment and/or relief of symptoms related to acute illness.
- Prescribe medications as necessary.
- Document accurately in the EHR, all patient encounters, historical data and services provided according to Agency and Medicaid standards.
Qualifications:
- Must have and maintain License from the District of Columbia’s Board of Nursing, Health Professionals Licensing Administration.
- Shall be drug and alcohol free, according to District Government regulations.
- Be Board Certification of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Must have a minimum of two years pediatric practice experience.
- Experienced in serving the urban/underserved population and be culturally sensitive.
