We're on the hunt for a seasoned Plant Controller who not only knows their GAAP, but also brings a sprinkle of sass and a heap of expertise to our bustling operations. In this role, you will manage and maintain the cost/operational accounting system, incorporating understanding of manufacturing operations and generally accepted accounting practices. What You Will Do:

• Develops and maintains the financial cost reports necessary to fully explain standard and gross margin analyses and the variances to planned results
• Reviews and posts daily manufacturing accounting entries
• Prepares daily operating performance analysis; including inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold, to identify significant issues in a timely fashion
• Reviews cost and variance trends; researching significant variations and recommending appropriate response.
• Performs monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers
• Reviews new BOMs and Routers submitted for cost freeze for accuracy
• Evaluates and approves cost review requests, including operating impact analysis
• Process operational CAPEX requests, tracking spend and capitalize asset as required
• Performs data analysis using reporting tools as required to perform job duties or as requested by management staff
• Prepares and monitors operating forecasts based on budgets and reviews significant variations and analyze operating impact
• Works with the Inventory Analyst and Director of IT to understand current reporting metrics, develop improved reports and fully understand inventory transactions as relates to the general ledger
• Acts as the finance lead for annual physical inventory and monthly cycle counts; work with the operational resources to assure timely and accurate financial reporting implications
• Collaborates with Pricing Manager to analyze, discuss and suggest adequate pricing based on operational costs for facility
• Establishes labor and overhead rates in line with operating budgets
• Performs annual cost roll and inventory revaluation. 
• Works with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field
• 5 years supporting a manufacturing business
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency with Excel
• Proficient with and knowledgeable of all current General Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”)
• 4 years of Operational/Cost accounting preferred
• 4 years using ERP systems, Epicor preferred
