Job Summary:
The Technologist Aide assists the technologist by providing support when necessary, with the patient, transporting, clerical, computer input, screening, and prepping patients. Monitors patients who are waiting for radiology studies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification and assuring the presence of screening forms, medication forms, and all lab reports needed for each patient.
· Prepares room and patient for procedure and assures all needed equipment is available prior to the start of exam.
· Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with the Hospital Safety and Infection Control policies as required by OSHA and the Patient Safety Program.
· Responsible for a clean and orderly work area.
· Supports and adheres to the standards of Main Line Health System by demonstrating compliance with related policies and procedures.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and employment law.
· May need to serve as a back-up to the registration desk.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· High Diploma or equivalent Required.
· 2 years of Medical Office Experience or 1 year of working in a Radiology Setting preferred.
· BLS Certification is required or need to receive certification within 60 days of employment.
· IV Certification is preferred or need to receive certification within 60 days of employment.
· EPIC Experience Preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged periods of frequent standing, travel, & reaching (overhead, extensive, & repetitive).
· Must be able to lift 100 pounds at times with other staff assistance.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
