A small dentistry office in Falls Church is looking to add a sterilization tech to their team to help grow their office! This office has been around for almost two decades and specialist in a variety of sleep apnea and jaw disorders. This person will work closely with the main practitioner to develop treatment set up, support the office to administer specialized therapies, and ensure their overall oral health and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Sterilization Procedures: Perform proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Instrument Preparation: Prepare instruments and equipment for dental procedures, ensuring they are organized and readily available for use by the dental team.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory levels of sterilization supplies and materials, and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular monitoring and testing of sterilization equipment to ensure effectiveness and compliance with infection control standards.
• Infection Control Compliance: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.
• Collaboration: Work closely with dental assistants and other team members to facilitate efficient workflow and ensure timely instrument preparation for patient treatments.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities, including sterilization logs, equipment maintenance records, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in sterilization techniques preferred.
• Prior experience in a dental or medical setting preferred, with knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
