Main Sail is Hiring a Financial Operations Analyst - Levels I - IV Near Washington, DC

United States Citizenship (no dual citizenship) required per government contract. An Active DoD eligibility with favorable determination is required per government contract.
Main Sail LLC is seeking Financial Operations Analysts to support Department of the Navy Financial Management Transformation. Initiatives include audit, budgetary reform, IT system consolidation, and policy support aligned with the Secretary of the Navy's strategic guidance.
Description: Support maintaining and improving the DON’s financial management processes and capabilities, including support to budget and accounting activities, data reconciliation, and financial system modernization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Navy business systems, particularly within the financial environment, and possess expertise in Navy financial management and acquisition policy.
Responsibilities:
  • Support development and implementation of Navy financial operations activities aimed at maintaining and improving the general health of the DON's financial management processes, people, and capabilities.
  • Support budget, accounting, data reconciliation, system modernization, and sustainment.
  • Support reengineering Navy financial management business processes to address root causes of issues.
  • Support consolidation (and post-consolidation) of Navy Financial Management systems and operations into modern ERPs (Navy ERP and Defense Agencies Initiative DAI).
Qualifications:
  • Requires one of the following levels of experience supporting Navy financial operations and associated business systems:
    • Level I: 1 year of experience and a Bachelor's Degree (or 2 years additional experience in lieu of a degree)
    • Level II: 3 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree (or 2 years additional experience in lieu of a degree)
    • Level III: 6 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree (or 2 years additional experience in lieu of a degree)
    • Level IV: 9 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree (or 2 years additional experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Experience with Navy ERP and/or DAI financial modules a plus.
  • Experience with Advana/Jupiter a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to articulate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Place of Performance: Primarily National Capital Region (within 50 miles of the Pentagon) with occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS DON support installations.
Period: Estimated start August 2024, through April 2029 including options
