What You Will Do to Change Lives 

Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Support Specialists provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Shifts Available: 

Full Time; DAYS 8:00 am- 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage range is $16.00 - $18.70. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have) 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Peer Support Training / Certified Peer Specialist or Peer Employment Training within one (1) year of hire.
  • Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care 
  • Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
  • Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.

Telecare's mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. The Telecare programs operate under contract with the Stanislaus County Department of Mental Health and are funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS). There are three levels of care including Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Intensive Community Supports (ICS), and Wellness. These levels of care provide specialty mental health services to a mix of populations including adults 25 individuals. Some individuals are experiencing co-occurring disorders, are uninsured or underinsured, and are persons representing underserved groups in Stanislaus County. Treatment provided is client-centered and will meet the clients where their needs are which can include in the field.
