Title: Community & Civic Engagement Coordinator Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System and the MEA Administrators Bargaining Unit; level 3, Salary $45,236.44 - $59,023.34. Job Description: The Community and Civic Engagement Coordinator is a student-centered, enthusiastic, and creative professional responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing co-curricular activities aimed at engaging students in community service and civic responsibility. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director for Student Life, faculty, staff, students, and community partners to create meaningful experiences that enhance students' educational journeys and foster a culture of active citizenship ResponsibilitiesThe Community and Civic Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for the development and management of the community and civic engagement programming. They will collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate community and civic engagement into the academic curriculum. The coordinator will coordinate and promote volunteer opportunities in the local community and beyond. They will also serve as a liaison between the College and community partners. Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Communications, or a related field with 2-3 years of experience in community service, civic engagement, student affairs, or a related area in a college setting working with students. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and assessment.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in support services focused on engagement activities.
Proficiency in using databases, technology and social media for program administration, promotion, and communication.
Knowledge of best practices in community and civic engagement in higher education.
Knowledge of current practices and theories related to student success and retention, including the impact of student engagement.
Ability to work with confidential information.
Ability to work independently.
