Summary
  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering Sign On Bonuses for Medical Assistants:

    Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment. 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) 1 years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)
    MMP Vascular Surgery is a fast-paced, growing practice consisting of 9 surgeons and 6 advanced practicing providers who are supported by a team of medical assistants, ultrasound technicians, registered nurses, patient service representatives and surgical schedulers.

    Our practice promotes a culture of positivity, respect, inclusiveness, and open communication. The team works together to develop workflows to provide excellent patient care. Our surgeons and advanced practicing providers provide frequent education related to vascular surgery.

    This is a 40 hour position allowing for weekends and company approved holidays off. As a medical assistant, you will work closely with the providers in clinic rooming patients, performing wound care, helping with minor procedures, and helping to facilitate further patient care. Some of the administrative tasks include entering referrals, scheduling, incoming/outgoing faxes, stocking and ordering supplies.
  • Position Summary
    • The Medical Assistant is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant II functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
    • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire required. An NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
    • Experience: 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or 6 months of experience and certification required.
