Overview

The Maine Municipal Association’sRisk Management Services (RMS) department provides all services related to its Property & Casualty Pool and Workers Compensation Fund programs including underwriting, marketing, loss control, and claims management through its in-house staff of insurance professionals.

Presently, MMA’s Risk Management Services Department is accepting resumes for the full-time position of Underwriting Specialist. The successful candidate will perform administrative and technical work for the Risk Management Services Underwriting Team. Key duties include reviewing applications and policy information submitted by members to prepare basic contribution quotations for the assigned underwriter’s reviews.

The successful candidate ideally possess:

· Two years’ experience in commercial insurance rating, product, and document knowledge is preferred

· Excellent customer service skills

· Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Pro skills are a must

· Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment as well as working independently

· Minimum education of a high-school diploma or G.E.D. Active participation in a recognized, accredited insurance training program is a plus.
