MaineHealth is Hiring a Director - Governance-Legal Affairs Near Portland, ME
- This position facilitates and coordinates system-wide programs and initiatives to support the system Board of Trustees and enhance coordination and communication with local and regional boards and other system board committees. Reporting to the General Counsel, this position leads initiatives in collaboration with MaineHealth Board leaders and senior executives. The Director supports the board system with the content development, planning, and execution of educational opportunities, agenda development, and effective and compliant governance processes and is a key point of contact for internal staff, the executive team, and board members.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Public Policy, or related field is strongly preferred.
- License/Certification: N/A.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years’ experience in health administration or policy required. Experience supporting board operations and activities is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry.
- Team player who thrives on collaboration and productive professional relationships, communicates effectively, and handles conflict with maturity.
- Outstanding capability to prepare and deliver oral, written, quantitative, or graphical reports for executive level audiences.
- Strong ability to develop positive and professional relationships with board and committee members.
- Strong ability to source materials, topics, and speakers that are relevant and interesting for the intended audience.
