Summary

Position Summary

The Intake RN supports MaineHealth Care at Home’s (MHCAH) mission, vision, and values, by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability. In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both MHCAH and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Intake RN provides highly reliable, evidenced based, patient-family centered quality care. Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.
  3. Experience: 1or more years of experience in home healthcare preferred including knowledge of community resources and the hospital discharge planning process. 
  4. Verified technology and computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
    Ideal candidate is a pro-active problem solver who is solutions focused. 
  5. Strong accuracy, organizational, and efficiency skills.
  6. Ability to navigate and quickly learn multiple application and software technologies. 
  7. Ability to multi-task and manage workload under pressure effectively.
  8. Ability to readily adapt to changes in processes related to new or changing regulations and best practices.
  9. Familiarity with third-party reimbursement regulations. 
  10. Excellent customer service skills.
