Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Companion and Central Staffing Office Manager is a full time employee with CNA experience or leadership experience in a clinical setting who partners with the Float Pool/Companion and Central Staffing Office Director to oversee the staff who provide direct constant patient observation as well as the Central Staffing Office Coordinators. This role provides operational oversight and resource coordination including hiring staff, performance improvement and evaluation, scheduling, onboarding, and continuing education for both the Companions and the Staffing Coordinators. This role will maintain staffing core numbers for units throughout the hospital and supervise the process for staff allocation including RNs, CNAs and the complex Companion requests list.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1. Education: N/A
    2. License/Certifications: Registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants.
    3. Experience: Clinical expertise in direct patient care as normally acquired through two (2) years of clinical experience.
    4. Role Models the MH Values in Action.
    5. High level of interpersonal, teaching and leadership skills to effectively lead and manage complex issues under the supervision of the Float Pool nursing director.
    6. Capacity for critical thinking and analytical skills.
    7. High level of organizational skills, effective time management, and delegation strategies’ that includes the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust workflow according to changing institutional and departmental needs.
