MaineHealth at Maine Medical Center is currently seeking a Poison Information Specialist for the Northern New England Poison Center. This team-focused, intellectually challenging position requires a "can do" problem-solving attitude. On-the-job training and national exam required (1-3 years after hire). The incumbent must pass the American Association Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) Certification Exam within two testing periods.
This is a 40-hour per week position with rotating shifts including day, evening, night, weekends and holidays - while utilizing the self scheduling model. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, and due to the call center environment requires sitting and typing for extended periods. The Poison Info Specialist Nurse is in a call center setting and is based in Portland, Maine.
