MaineHealth is Hiring a Vice President of Surgery and Neurosciences Practice Operations Near South Portland, ME

Summary

MaineHealth Medical Group is seeking an experienced ambulatory medical practice leader to serve as its next Vice President of Surgery and Neurosciences Practice Operations. Serving as a dyad partner to its two respective Senior Medical Directors, this position will provide operational and strategic oversight and will be responsible for advancing the vision and continual growth of specialty services across the MaineHealth system.
The Vice President will work closely with MaineHealth Medical Group (MHMG) and MaineHealth leadership to ensure outstanding organizational results in the four key areas of clinical quality, service excellence, financial stewardship and care team engagement.
The Vice President will manage 7 directors and oversee 18 practice sites across MaineHealth, working closely with 200 providers and nearly 500 care team members in Neurosciences, Surgery, ENT, GI and Urology, among others. The successful candidate will be an experienced medical practice leader within an integrated health system and have proven success collaborating with physicians and care team members.
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of five to ten years' experience in healthcare system physician group practices with multi-site responsibility and experience implementing best practices, systems, and processes, as well as skills in organizational standardization and transformation.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the business functions of ambulatory care and medical group management as well as thorough working knowledge of all aspects of integrated health system operations.
4. Successful track record of developing positive and effective physician, advanced practice provider and care team relationships.
5. Ability to organize and coordinate multiple activities and to promote constructive change.
6. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organization’s mission and strategic goals.
7. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
8. Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
